Warrington Scaffolding Apprentice Alan Reflects on his Training

Part of one of our latest apprenticeship cohorts at our Warrington centre, trainee scaffolder, Alan has shared his journey from scaffold labourer to becoming a qualified scaffolding professional with the support of SIMIAN’s apprenticeship scheme.

Taking place at our Warrington headquarters, Alan wanted to boost his scaffolding career, further his earning potential and, most importantly, learn scaffolding best practice.

Alan - Scaffolding Apprentice

When asked of his favourite parts of the apprenticeship scheme, Alan has noted the chance to meet his fellow apprentices (a crucial part of any successful scaffolding team), as well as the physical aspect of the role improving his fitness.

Having already worked on a number of interesting projects, including the chance to work over a lake and underneath a train track as a dropper, Alan is planning huge things for his career, with an ultimate goal to work in Las Vegas!

When asked what advice he would give to those considering a career in scaffolding, Alan said:

“If you’re willing to work hard, you’re likely to achieve good things… I would recommend an apprenticeship with SIMIAN, they are very friendly people, they have helped me a lot and are great teachers.”
