Case Study

Sonia is nearing completion of her Part 1 training at our London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC) training centre.

SIMIAN Scaffolding Apprentice, Sonia, is nearing completion of her Part 1 training at our London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC) training centre, meaning she is well on the way to becoming a competent scaffolder.

With a background as a general labourer on construction sites, Sonia was keen to progress in the construction industry and chose a Scaffolding Apprenticeship to continue her learning.

Knowing of our positive reputation in the industry, Sonia’s employers Proplant Scaffolding Ltd chose SIMIAN to provide her with the right blend of theory and practical components to build her scaffolding skills.

Sonia was initially worried about being in a male-dominated and physically demanding industry, but with the guidance of her SIMIAN instructors, she has learnt to develop effective systems and methods of working that work for her.

Talking about her time at LASC, Sonia says:

“I would without hesitation recommend SIMIAN to anyone who is considering a Scaffolding Apprenticeship. SIMIAN offer the right blend of theoretical and practical components on the course and the course is divided up into blocks, which gives you time to implement what you have learnt on-site.
SIMIAN have also been great at guiding my employer on suitable duties and activities to help maximise my learning progression to become an effective and competent Scaffolder.”

With the completion of her Part 1 Scaffolding Apprenticeship in sight Sonia is more confidence, resilient and has the teamwork skills to take her forward in her career.

Good luck Sonia and we look forward to seeing you back with us for the next step in your Scaffolding training!
