Waltham Forest scaffolding training centre opens
27th January 2019
We are very pleased to announce the grand opening of Simian’s newest scaffolding training partnership with Waltham Forest Council and Dudley College of Technology will take place on 1st February.
This is a proud moment for the Simian team, providing us with the opportunity to partner with a centre considered to be a leader in modern construction training methods, as well as allowing us to expand our reach, so that more scaffolders can benefit from our training services.
To celebrate the opening of the centre, we will be hosting an overseas benchmarking event on 28th January, at which we will be welcoming dignitaries from the Qatari government, overseas training providers, NASC and CISRS representatives.
Attendees will be given a tour of the facilities at the centre, a presentation from the CISRS OSTS and NASC International and the chance for scaffolding safety representatives from across the globe to discuss best practice.
During the event, Qatari Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will be presented with a certificate for their achievements in ensuing safety, having successfully reached 100 million hours without LTI (lost time injury), an astounding figure that is truly a testament to the dedication that Ashghal has evidenced in improving safety standards.
This figure has been achieved through the development of specification and laws, as well as intensifying supervision on sites. CISRS has been part of the fundamental requirements of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) since 2014, and since then, Ashghal has seen performance significantly improve across the construction sector.
