Two workers fall from scaffolding in Lanark, Scotland

Two men were injured on 10^th January following a scaffolding collapse in Lanark, Scotland. It was reported that the men were working on the mobile aluminium tower scaffold at the time it fell, with materials falling on top of them as it collapsed.

Both men required treatment at nearby Wishaw General Hospital, but the extent of their injuries have not yet been revealed. An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident.

Fire crews and ambulances attended the incident on the town’s high street, which was subsequently sealed off whilst emergency services worked at the scene.

Safe work at height

Whilst the cause of the scaffolding collapse is, as of yet, undetermined, it serves as a reminder to the industry as a whole, of the importance of safe scaffolding practices.
