Maintaining the Family Tradition
Twenty-three year old Tommy Noyes, a trainee Scaffolder from Southwark, has taken the first steps towards following his Dad and Grandad into a career in scaffolding and with that, becoming a key layer in the family business, Noyes Access Solutions Limited.
Tommy recently came to Simian to achieve his CISRS COTS card and to open the door for him to attend a Part One Scaffolding Course. Speaking of the course, Tommy said: “I would recommend Simian to others as the course structure is well outlined and more importantly the instructors themselves have extensive experience and can answer any scaffolding related question. I can’t wait until I am eligible to attend a Part One Scaffolding course, which should be by mid-summer of this year, as that will enable me to really kick on a develop my understanding of scaffolding”.
Sara Calvo, Simian’s Business Development Manager for the South West commented, “It’s great to see young people such as Tommy take the first steps on the scaffolding career ladder. The COTS course is effectively a passport into the industry and often opens up a whole new world of opportunities, which include work overseas and the ability to make a very comfortable living in a job which also serves the purpose of maintaining an excellent level of personal fitness.”
There are no age restrictions on COTS course attendance and they at offered at all of our centres across the UK. What’s more, anyone booking a COTS course with Simian, will go onto receive the cost of the course back as discount, when they go on to book a CISRS Part One Scaffolding course.
