The Green Energy Skills Training Hub is up & Running

The expansion of our training portfolio took another huge stride earlier this month, when our London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC) in Waltham Forest, took delivery of its first piece of state of the art energy efficient low carbon equipment.
The Air-source Heat Pump technology will be used to kit out our new training workshop as part of the green energy skills hub, and was provided by Cool Energy, a market leading UK manufacturer of Air Source Heat Pumps and renewable energy solutions, as our product partners. Cool Energy will provide the specialist equipment and technical support for our Tutors, Learners and Employers, as the training hub seeks to upskill Londoners in green energy systems installation.
The green energy skills hub courses are being developed at LASC as part of the Green Energy Skills Training Alliance (GESTA), a joint initiative between London Borough of Waltham Forest Council, Waltham Forest College, and SIMIAN. The training is planned to meet the skills need for the installation and maintenance of energy efficiency technology for new build construction and the retrofit of existing properties.

“This delivery marks a significant step forward for the development of our Green Energy Skills Training at the London Academy of Sustainable Construction here in Waltham Forest. Air source heat pump technology is a low carbon heating option for both new build construction and retrofit of existing social housing and private properties. We are keen to support the emergence of this energy efficient technology by providing skills training for installers not only in the borough of Waltham Forest but the wider pan-London and southeast region.”
