Staff Profile – Susan Russell
20th August 2014
Name: Susan Russell
Job title: Logistics Manager
Talk me through a typical day in the office/work for you?
There is no typical day in the office, no two days are the same. From walking through the door in the morning with a plan of action with intended tasks in mind, receiving one phone call from a client to respond to their requirements (whether that be an emergency incident or urgent paperwork to gain access to a site) can change the whole day.
I take instructions from clients to arrange scaffold inspections, site audits, training and documentation and then assign these to our Consultants.
What is your favourite part of the job?
That no two days are the same. The different aspects of the job suit me as I like to be busy and have a number of projects on the go at the same time.
If you didn’t work at Simian what would be your dream job?
Organising walking tours/events in a nice sunny climate.
When you aren’t in work where are most likely to be found?
In an ideal world curled up on a comfy sofa reading – but with children this is rare and probably most of my time is accommodating their social diaries and acting as their taxi driver.
Where would your ideal holiday be and why?
On my bucket list is the Inca Trail leading up to Machu Picchu in Peru – I’ll get there one day!
Now for the quick fire round…

Beer or wine? Neither, but if it had to be one red wine.

A weekend in the country or a city break? Tough question…….city break for theatre and nice restaurants, country break to enjoy nice walks and hill climbing.
