We are pleased to announce that we have welcomed Ray Hanratty back into the Simian team as a Scaffold Instructor, Assessor and Inspector. Those that have previously attended Simian’s scaffolding training may recognise Ray, as he was a fixture at our Warrington Centre for over four years.

Ray began his career in scaffolding in 1979 and with nearly four decades experience in the industry, he has worked across many industry sectors, from petrochemical and maritime to construction and everything in between. His experience has taken him to all corners of the world including Denmark, working with Simian at a shipyard in China and with our expert team over in Dubai.

Speaking of his new role, Ray said: “I’m delighted to be back with the team, the way in which Simian is run is extremely professional, and as the place in which I first began training fellow scaffolders, it feels like I’ve come home”.

His role at Simian will see Ray instructing and assessing trainee scaffolders as they build their knowledge of best practice for safe work at height. This role is an integral part to improve safety standards in the scaffolding industry, ensuring that scaffolders throughout the UK and overseas understand the necessity of safe scaffolding practices and how to implement them into all aspects of their day-to-day work.

Simian’s UK Operations Director, Dave Randles, said: “It’s fantastic to have Ray back with us, the knowledge and experience he brings to his role is a huge asset to our specialist team. We have some very exciting expansion plans for the business over the next few months and employing people of Ray’s calibre will be a key part of achieving the growth we are looking for.”
