Simian Commences Online Training
22nd April 2020
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the temporary suspension of activity at our training centres, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to offer the industry something a little bit different!
Yesterday (21 April) saw the formal launch of SIMIAN’s remote learning initiative – ‘Toolbox Talk Tuesday’, in the form of an online talk titled, “Scaffold Anchor Testing”. The session was hosted by Dave Burrows, CISRS Advanced Scaffolder and Senior Consultant at SIMIAN.
Speaking after the session, Dave said: “We’ve been conscious for a while now that the web is a fantastic opportunity for the business to reach people in another way. We have worked really hard to adapt to the situation we’re in and the business has fully harnessed technology as a means for communicating, while we are home working. The use of technology to deliver training is an extension of that.”
We are currently scheduling additional talks for the coming weeks, and they will focus on scaffolding topics ranging from CISRS revision classes, to scaffold inspection on closed sites, and the use of impact wrenches for scaffolding activity. The team will share delivery responsibility and the intention is to deliver a short briefing on Tuesdays, which we’re calling ‘Toolbox Talk Tuesday’, and each Thursday, or ‘Topical Training Thursday’, we will deliver a slightly more detailed talk.
Attendance at the talks is totally free and is by pre-registration at the links shared on our social media streams. Completed talks will also be shared on our You Tube channel, Facebook page and at www.simian-risk.com, in the days following delivery! Be sure to give us a follow, so you don’t miss out!
