Scaffolding Safety Advisor, Dallas Cooper, Passes his NEBOSH Certificate

15th March 2022

SIMIAN Scaffolding Safety Advisor, Dallas Cooper, has recently completed his NEBOSH certificate in Construction Health and Safety, a fantastic achievement that enables Dallas to carry out further Consultancy work for SIMIAN clients, and allows him to become a technical member of IOSH.

Scaffolding safety advisor passes his NEBOSH certificate

Dallas began his NEBOSH certificate in September 2019 at St Helen’s College, attending every Wednesday before, unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the college’s closure and put the course on hold.

Nevertheless, in spite of it taking longer than it typically would due to restrictions and lockdowns, once able, Dallas persevered with his certificate and successfully gained accreditation in February of this year.

What is NEBOSH?

NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupation Safety and Health) is a global organisation that provides health, safety and environmental qualifications. Its aim is to raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals in the workplace.

What is involved in the NEBOSH Construction Certificate?

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate provides delegates with all they may need to understand, in order to make a construction site healthier and safer. Amongst many things it aims to minimise workplace injuries, boost employee wellbeing, and ultimately create a culture that is dedicated to ensuring health and safety.

The course involved many aspects including a practical, exam and open book exam, all of which Dallas successfully passed. Now with his qualification, Dallas is able to expand the work he can carry out with SIMIAN clients to include further Consultancy work on sites alongside his other scaffold inspection work.

Speaking of his achievement, Dallas said, “It’s great to finally get this monkey off my back! The pandemic was a real setback and meant that achieving the qualification took far longer than it would have under normal circumstances. Now I am looking forward to getting more experience in the role of a Safety Advisor, and achieving more qualifications over the coming months and years, which will help me progress in my carrier and mean that I will be able to assist customers with a broader scope of the services that SIMIAN provides.”

On behalf of the entire SIMIAN team, we would like to say a huge congratulations to Dallas on this achievement!
