Scaffolder rescued after fall

28th June 2017

A scaffolder has been rescued following a fall from height incident in Middlesbrough city centre. The incident occurred when the worker fell while working on Middlesbrough Town Hall during the ongoing ££7.7 million refurbishment project.

Two fire crews attended the scene, one of which was a specialist a rope rescue team and evacuated the scaffolder from what was believed to be a restricted area before he  was transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The local press are reporting that the HSE do not intend to proceed with their investigations as they are satisfied by the Principal Contractor’s response, which is indicative that the correct processes were followed in the time before and after the incident.
