New Smart Check App by CSCS

An app that has been developed by the 38 card schemes that currently display the CSCS logo has been developed, in a move that looks set to improve the construction industry’s procedures for checking cards and, ultimately, the safety across sites.

The CSCS Smart Check app will enable the 2.1 million cards that currently issued under the CSCS banner to be electronically verified in one central place. Employers will be able to quickly and easily verify that all those on site have the correct training and qualifications to carry out their work.

This solves a whole host of issues that are currently felt by sites throughout the UK, as cards displaying the CSCS logo should be checked regularly to ensure that they are genuine and in date, however this can be a complicated process currently due to the fact that 38 schemes offer CSCS logoed cards.

The ‘Go Smart’ initiative includes a free-to-use app which is available in the apple app store and on Google Play, as well as PC, which can be used online and offline for physical cards and virtual scheme cards, giving the assurance that smartcards can be read and checked even when there is no internet connection available.

Having these accessible from one place (via the new app) will ensure that checks can be carried out quickly and accurately, no matter what specialism the card displays.
