MD, Simon, Speaks at the Health & Safety Expo, London

22nd June 2022

In May, members of the SIMIAN team travelled to the London Excel to take part in the 2022 Safety & Health Expo as representatives of the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC).

With hundreds of industry professionals in attendance across the three-day event, SIMIAN had the opportunity to meet many people seeking advice and guidance on health and safety best practice in construction and scaffolding.

Director here at SIMIAN and NASC Health and Safety Committee member, Simon Hughes, presented to delegates on the final day of the Expo, discussing the next iteration of SG4:22 Preventing Falls in Scaffolding Operations which is due to be published later this year.

Speaking following his presentation, Simon said:

“This year it has been great to have the opportunity for myself and the SIMIAN to get out and about once again following COVID and speak to professionals throughout the UK on the importance of health and safety in construction and scaffolding.

NASC’s Health and Safety Committee has been working hard on the 2022 update of SG4, and the industry won’t have to wait too much longer for the latest revision.

Safety standards in both scaffolding and construction generally have improved remarkably in recent decades but there will always be space for improvement and advancement to ensure each and every member of the industry contributes to best practice standards at all times. Events such as the Health & Safety Expo, provide an ideal platform on which to share knowledge and guidance.”
