CITB Increases Grant Rates

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has announced that it will invest an additional £100m this year, in a bid to boost levels of construction training.
From 01 April 2023, CITB will double some grant rates to assist businesses to offer additional employer support and to encourage additional core skills training. CITB registered employers can now receive either £60, £140 or £240 for short duration courses.
The Board has also increased the grant for supervision and management VQs achieved from 1 April 2023 from £600 to £1,250 and £1,500 respectively to help support with the removal of the CSCS Industry Accreditation card.
Speaking of the increases, Matt Luetchford, SIMIAN BDM for the North and Wales regions, said:
“The increased rates across a range of scaffolding training will help & encourage employers to further up skill their staff as well as encourage self employed individuals to undertake training and progress through their career.”
The new grant levels for core SIMIAN scaffolding courses are:
- CISRS COTS – £60
- CISRS Part 1, 2 and Advanced – £500
- CISRS Scaffolder CPD Refresher – £120
- CISRS BSI & ASI – £140
- CISRS Layher Part 1 & 2 – £500
- CISRS SSPTS – £140
