Fully Funded Scaffolding Training for Wales Residents

19th August 2022

Are you a scaffolding employer, or are you a budding Scaffolder who lives in Wales? If so, read on!

Provided by the Welsh Government, we are able to provide fully funded CISRS COTS and Part One Scaffolder training to those that meet the criteria for a Personal Learning Account (PLA). The funding is intended to learners to gain new skills and achieve the qualifications that employers need from their workforce.

Our Anglesey training hub, based at Grwp Llandrillo Menai’s Centre for Infrastructure Skills and Training (CIST), has an open door for those wishing to enrol for a PLA, and is open to anyone who:

  • Is over the age of 19
  • Lives in Wales
  • Earns less than £29,500 p/a

Matt Luetchford, SIMIAN’s Business Development Manager for the North West, said:

“At SIMIAN, we recognise that the current economic climate is adding pressure to the pockets of businesses and individuals alike, and because of this, our focus on seeking out funding opportunities is currently redoubled. A PLA is a great option for those who are eligible to progress in the scaffolding industry.

This funding comes on the back of a similar initiative funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, which saw us very recently provide fully funded CISRS training to around 20 Scaffolders living or working in the Greater Manchester area. There’s often no telling when new funding streams will open up, so following our social media streams is probably the best way of keeping abreast of what’s available.”

Employers and/or learners wishing to explore the PLA option should contact Matt via mluetchford@simian-risk.com, or by calling him on 0345 6022 418.
