FREE Educational Safety Event Feat. Jason Anker MBE!

Simian are proud members and supporters of the North West Construction Safety Group, the UK’s largest construction industry safety group.
On Tuesday 3rd February 2015, at Cineworld Cinemas, Didsbury, Manchester, in association with Osborn Abas Hunt (Specialist Safety Solicitors), the group are hosting what promises to be a fantastically entertaining and educational event that is intended to highlight the legal and personal consequences of ‘getting it wrong’ in the workplace. Group Members will play the parts of court officials and others involved in the case. In addition to the educational element – it is also the aim of the group to raise money for the British Disabled Water-ski and Wakeboard Association and Prostate Cancer UK.
The event will feature the very highly regarded safety speaker, Jason Anker MBE. For those that don’t know the name, Jason suffered the misfortune of a workplace accident in 1993 at the age of just 24 and as a result was paralysed from the waist down. In the years since the accident, Jason has dedicated himself to raising health and safety awareness and talks openly about the accident and his experiences thereafter, including the physical and physiological effects he has experienced and the personal effects on both him and his family. Jason’s ability to talk with such openness and emotion always has a massive impact on those listening and is sure to grab the attention of from Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Operatives alike. It is the recognition of this that saw him awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for 2015. (Page 47)
