Don’t Let Your Scaffolding Card Expire!
2nd March 2018
The CISRS CPD scheme for Scaffolders was introduced as mandatory requirement for all scaffolder card renewals on 01 July 2017 and is open to existing Part Two and Advanced CISRS card holders.
Since July, Simian has trained in excess of 100 delegates in CPD, with demand for these courses growing by the week, as this relatively new requirement beds in and news spreads across the industry, that cards cannot be renewed without course attendance and completion.
Our booking data shows that many of those booking a space on the CPD course allow their CISRS card to expire prior to making a booking enquiry. This means that they may then have a period without a card as they find a convenient date and location for the course they wish to attend and then have to wait after completing the course, while the new card application is processed. Some of our customers have reported having problems accessing sites and moving between employers in the time they are waiting to complete the CPD course and get hold of their new card.
CISRS rules stipulate that Scaffolders wishing to renew their cards can attend a CPD course up to six months in advance of the expiry date shown on their card. By way of an example, if the expiry date shown on a card is 31 July 2018, the CPD course can be attended any time after 31 January 2018!
As with all of the courses that we run, the number of CPD courses scheduled is based solely on demand and we will increase these as and when required. The table below shows the courses we currently have scheduled throughout 2018.
