CISRS to launch virtual cards
24th October 2019
The Construction Industry Scaffolders’ Record Scheme has announced that CISRS cards will soon be brought into the digital age with a virtual version.
This revamp comes as a result of a partnership between CISRS and NOCN Job Cards. From the end of the year, new card applicants will receive both a plastic and virtual card. This virtual card can be accessed electronically via smartphones and tablets, and will provide cardholders with their specific CISRS details, including photo, qualifications and training courses taken. The app on which the card will be hosted will also notify Scaffolders of any renewals due.
SIMIAN understands that the cost of a card will increase to £30, but this is only the second increase in many years and it still represents fantastic value for what is, in most cases, a five-year licence to practice. It is hoped that the new card will speed up application processing times, allow for easy access when needed, and that it will also significantly reduce cases of card fraud within the industry.
Speaking of the new card, David Moseley, CISRS Managing Director, said “We have been talking about smart technology for several years. We believe the new cards will add value to operatives, scaffolding contractors and end users.”
What do you make of the new CISRS virtual cards? We’d love to hear your thoughts on Twitter.
