Scaffolding appears on iconic HP bottles

In the first change of its kind in over 123 years, popular condiment HP Sauce has changed the design of its bottle to reflect the current appearance of the revered London skyline, by adding scaffolding to Big Ben.

As one of the most photographed landmarks in the UK, many have seen the iconic tower slowly become encased in scaffolding, as vital works are carried out over the next few years, it fell silent in August 2017, with works expected to be completed in 2021. The scaffold, which is one of the largest currently erected in the UK, was erected by Simian retained clients PHD Modular Access, using the materials of another Simian client, Layher UK.

As this scaffolding will be a permanent fixture for the next few years, as well as to mark the tower’s 160^th anniversary, HP chose to make-over the well-known bottle design to include the scaffolding until the restoration is complete.

Of course, HP has always been closely linked to this famous landmark, having been named after the House of Parliaments, with the condiment rumoured to have been served there.
