As an 18-year-old scaffolding apprentice at SIMIAN, Thomas is not only making impressive progress in his training, but he’s also proving that ambition and hard work can build the foundations for a long and rewarding career in the industry.
For Thomas, the decision to begin a scaffolding apprenticeship was a practical one, he recognised early on the financial rewards available in the scaffolding industry for those who complete their training. But also, with his sights set on climbing the career ladder, Thomas views this qualification as a stepping stone to long-term success and professional growth within the sector.
Thomas has fully embraced the apprenticeship experience at SIMIAN. Speaking about his time with us, he shares:
“I would definitely recommend SIMIAN. The programme is easy to understand, the instructors make it fun and enjoyable, and you leave with a qualification that stays with you for life.”
His enthusiasm highlights the engaging and supportive learning environment that SIMIAN apprenticeships are known for – where learners not only gain industry-recognised skills, but are inspired to keep moving forward.
Thomas’ commitment didn’t go unnoticed. Erika Redler, Thomas’ Learner Coach, had this to say about his achievement:
“Thomas was chosen as our Apprentice Achiever within his group due to the dedication he showed from the very beginning. He cycled to the training centre even through snow, wind and ice, and always maintained a positive attitude. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him.”
It’s this level of resilience and positivity that truly exemplifies the values we hold at SIMIAN and showcases Thomas’ professionalism in every way.
With his apprenticeship nearing completion and a clear vision for the future, Thomas is already building a solid platform for success. His story is a reminder that with the right attitude, the right support, and the right training, young people can achieve outstanding things in the construction industry.
