Budding Scaffolder Raymond recently visited SIMIAN’s London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC) to undertake his CISRS Scaffolder Part 1 training.

49-year-old Raymond, a Waltham Forest resident, successfully completed training at our LASC centre to take another huge step in progressing his career in the scaffolding industry.

During his time with SIMIAN, Raymond’s training covered a number of different areas including loading, platforms, scaffolding foundations, loading, inspections and insight into using the correct materials.

Raymond overcame a number of barriers to achieve his Part 1 certificate, and he now has increased confidence, and a greater ability to work as a team. As a result, he is now able to work independently, and has improved knowledge of Health and Safety guidelines.

Speaking of his training, Raymond has said:

“My self-confidence has improved greatly, and I have much better insight into how to look out for my team when working on scaffolding.

Everyone at SIMIAN has been very, very helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending the training to others within my community.”

Jackie Thomason, Commercial Director at SIMIAN said:

“It’s great to see the LASC centre benefitting Waltham Forest residents, so much so that we are currently looking to launch a free CISRS COTS training initiative to borough residents, and that should be live within the next month or so.”
