Their recent decision to invest in the future of their workforce by enrolling three new apprentices in our Scaffolding Apprenticeship Scheme at SIMIAN LASC is a testament to their forward-thinking and commitment to excellence.
Gold Scaffolding operates with a strong, skilled workforce of around 36 scaffolders. Their team provides high-quality scaffolding services across a range of projects, including new-build housing estates and refurbishment work. Their operations are split evenly between domestic and commercial scaffolding, highlighting their adaptability and breadth of expertise.
Gold Scaffolding has embraced apprenticeships as a cornerstone of its workforce development strategy. Currently, they have three apprentices training with SIMIAN, each gaining valuable experience and skills to build a solid foundation for a successful career in scaffolding.
Gold Scaffolding’s approach to onboarding apprentices is a standout feature. For the first two to three months, apprentices start in the yard, familiarising themselves with equipment, processes, and safety protocols. This hands-on experience ensures they develop a strong foundational knowledge before heading out into the field.
The learning journey doesn’t stop there. Apprentices also accompany contracts managers on on-site visits, giving them insight into project planning, scaffolding inspections, and overall operations. This immersive approach ensures that they are “bedded into the company,” allowing them to understand both the technical and operational sides of the business.
By taking such a structured and supportive approach, Gold Scaffolding not only equips apprentices with technical expertise but also instils a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
