Could you please tell us about your past work experience?
I have completed a long career with many years in the London Fire Brigade seeing the sights of London from various places and times of the day/night. Meeting people sometimes having a bad day and helping make their day a little better. I recently worked for Babcock International as Head of Training for the LFB, delivering a range of over 250 different courses at over 200 different venues providing +35,00 learner training days p.a.
Can you describe a typical day at Simian?
Dealing with various issues, problem solving and putting in processes and systems that hopefully will improve things for everyone.
Is there one aspect of your work in particular that you most enjoy?
Every day is another opportunity to learn and develop. I enjoy working with different people from a range of cultures and delivering a quality training product
What advice would you give those considering a career in the construction industry?
Think big and be bold. Grasp the opportunities that come along, be optimistic, have fun and grow your empire.
In your opinion, what is the most important piece of guidance you give youngsters making their way in the industry?
Be curious and select the jobs that interest you with their location and ability to challenge you. Build friendships and contacts that last by being yourself and keeping in contact with others when you are not working together.
Before working at Simian, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I played football for Brentford – see if you can find me along with Bradley Walsh in the 1980 squad pics online. Although I have to warn you that I have changed a little since then!
